Smartspec is constantly updating our specifications to keep them in line with building codes changes, manufacturers updates or new and updated documentation.
To help with this we've added the UPDATE feature.
When clicking the UPDATE button next to a specification, the Smartspec platform will get the latest version of that specification and copy all of your previous clause and option selections from the old version of that specification.

Sometimes it's not possible to update all of these selections. This occurs when:
- The clause or option has been renamed.
- The clause or option has been removed entirely.
In these two instances you will be notified that "Some clauses require your attention" so that you can open and update your specification accordingly.
